My setup is as following
Windows XP 2002 SP3
itunes 10.2.2.12
Free disk space is 20Gb
3.5GB memory
Page file is system managed
Audio drivers are up to date
No iTunes plugins
Audio Hardware acceleration is set to full
This problem is driving me nuts and will require me to go back to Windows Media Player and returning the Airport Express I got.

Have you tried uninstalling everything apple related from your pc and reinstalling? It has fixed simliar problems for others.

Yes sometimes it seems that way. However sometimes iTunes comes bundled with things like Apple Bonjour/Zeroconfig, Apple Application something, and Apple Quicktime. I’d just double check through add/remove and make sure nothing with Apple is there. Apple is pretty sneaky.

Called Apple and they suggested uninstalling in the following order:
itunes
quicktime
apple software updates
apple mobile device support
bonjour
apple application support
I will give this a go. They also suggested that if that does not help it is the OS 🙂

I uninstalled everything and re-installed it, so far it looks like it’s working fine.
